Stage III - Tender

With the arrival of the locomotive back in Wellington work on the reconstruction of the tender is currently underway. The tender consists of three main parts, under frame, tank and the bogies. The largest single component will be a new tender tank. We envisage that this will be similar to the recent construction of a new tender body for K88 in Ashburton.

Work just begining on the tender

Work on the frames is nearing completion and work is due to start on the bogies before the end of 2007. During the end of October and begining of November the first coats of black paint were applied to the freshly restored tender frames.
